Ford owners will be able to unlock a new world of services conveniently available on their smartphone. They will be able to experience a new way of communicating with their Ford Ranger using the FordPass App, which is linked to a vehicle with a fitted FordPass Connect embedded modem.

“FordPass Connect makes life simpler and easier and, as Ford South Africa’s best-selling vehicle – which is locally produced at the Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria – it is the first to offer this innovative technology as standard,” the company told MyBroadband.

Only models produced from 2021 will get the offering standard. These include the Ford Ranger XL, XLS, XLT, Wildtrak, FX4, and Ranger Raptor.

Features of the FordPass include:

– Fuel Status

– Remote lock and unlock

– Car Finder

– Car health alerts

– Car pre-cool and pre-heat remote start

These kind of updates are the perfect addition to the modern car. They bring the available technology in line with the current up-to-date car design for the perfect marriage of convenience and usability.
