While Naamsa no longer releases individual model sales figures to the public, we have laid our hands on information confirming South Africa’s best-selling bakkies for December 2020.
The Toyota Hilux (3 233) stayed at the top of the table in the final month of the year, a significant 1 393 units ahead of the likewise locally built Ford Ranger (1 840).
The Isuzu D-Max (1 138) climbed one spot to grab third, pushing the Nissan NP200 (991) down into fourth place. The Nissan NP300 Hardbody, meanwhile, held steady in fifth on 504 units.
The Mahindra Pik Up (370) enjoyed a particularly strong month, moving up to sixth and forcing the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-Up (289) down to seventh.
The GWM Steed (139) climbed one spot to eighth, just ahead of the ninth-placed Volkswagen Amarok (129). The new GWM P-Series, meanwhile, made its first appearance on the table, taking the final spot with 35 units registered in a partial month of sales.
That means there’s no space in the top ten for the likes of the Mitsubishi Triton (28), Mazda BT-50 (12), Fiat Fullback (6), Mahindra Bolero (5) and Nissan Navara (0) in December. Check out November 2020’s figures for reference.
